Ist „Kreuz ohne historischen oder religiösen Hintergrund” wirklich richtig?

Oder ist das eine falsche Übersetzung aus dem englischen? Im englischen Artikel wird dieser Religionszusammenhang gar nicht erwähnt. Hintergrund der Frage ist, dass dies offenbar die Übersetzung für die ID (presets) und damit auch StreetComplete darstellt und das dort zu UX-Problemen führte, vgl. https://github.com/streetcomplete/StreetComplete/issues/5557. --rugk (talk) 23:57, 27 March 2024 (UTC)

Yes, man_made=cross is entirely fine for all kind of cross POIs. Including ones with religious value and ones with historic value. Note also that historic=wayside_cross is not great for crosses which are not historic or not next to road/path. German translation of https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Tag:man_made%3Dcross article is simply wrong and misleading and should be fixed. BTW, asking in German section of https://community.openstreetmap.org/ may give you more responses, wiki talk pages are quite low traffic Mateusz Konieczny (talk) 06:49, 28 March 2024 (UTC)
