This is a orginal mplayer snapshot a video (from walking) from the Maptaq Fisheye HD helmet cam.
Advantages
- 170° fisheye lens
- can be used in video or 12 MP photo mode
- good value for money, for mapping, if your cam must not be to robust
- dealer told me it is yet another clone of the same hardware the Bullet HD use (price was the same as I got it, now the Bullet HD is cheaper)
Disadvantages
- mechanical cheap plastic and aluminum case
- afaik no open source driver for it's Syntek 03N chipset (you need to fiddle with the bad windows webcam driver to do a firmware update)
- even with a class 6 SD card I have write back lags with complex scenes, at least short after the I started recording
