Summary

The Royal Oak at Boscobel House where Charles II hid after the battle of Worcester in 1651. This is not the original tree, though reportedly a descendent of it. The current Royal Oak is in poor health having split recently. A new descendent oak was planted adjacent a few years ago and can be seen in the photo. Boscobel House is on the Monarch's Way long distance path.
