This page will be edited over time to communicate the main problems that may occur in this import, as well as solutions to these problems and tips for importers. If you are interested in being notified of changes, just have or create an account on this wiki and add this page to your watchlist (the star that appears in the top menu when you are already logged in). In that way you will receive notifications every time the guide is updated. Merging equal areasYou must simplify the areas in the OSM as much as possible, avoiding overly complex geometries or unnecessary repetitions. The data may come with houses divided into some areas. When this is the case, where areas have the same height (or similar heights, with little difference between them), it is preferable to merge these areas. In JOSM this task is done very easily, selecting the identical areas and going to Tools - Join overlapping areas (shortcut Shift + J). Attributes of multipart buildingsThe data has excessive details, including different heights of the same building (very common in buildings of different heights). The correct behavior in these cases is to substitute the building=yes tag to building:part=yes tag in the desired areas. Then, as explained in the building:part=* article, an area must be created covering all other areas, adding the building=yes tag, as well as the highest height between the parts. |
