The key archaeologist:wikidata can be used to link the wikidata identifier of one or more archaeologists to a site they excavated. This should make it easier to identify literature about the historic=archaeological_site (in combination with the location). This is especially useful when the site does not have its own wikidata or Wikipedia entries. The key use also implies that the site has been excavated.
How to tag
On the node or area of the historic=archaeological_site, added the key archaeologist:wikidata=* and their wikidata indentifier. Use the site director's name or whoever else published about the site.
You might need to create the identifier on wikidata.org to do this. If more than one archaeologist worked on the site at different stages in time, you can add more than one identifier, separating them with semicolons.
Examples
- Crannóg at Moynagh Lough, Ireland
- Troy in Turkey
