Use the doorstep=* keys to describe artistically or historically interesting entrances into shops, hotels, opera houses, pubs etc. They were used in the past to advertise the business, but since they can be some decades old, the original business might have moved or gone out of business, so the decorative doorsteps can give part of the historic of the premises.
