Rarely used to state that an area doesn't have square corners, when it may look it or be almost square.
iD uses it in validation and won't recommend squaring buildings with this tag.
History
iD includes a validator, and checks if a building is square or not. From v2.15.0 (released 21 May 2019) to v2.15.2 (17 June 2019), iD added nonsquare=yes to record that a building is supposed to be non-square, and to hide the validation check. This behavior was removed after some controversy.
