The key ref:ES:ipcclm is an external reference used in Spain to identify historic monuments and sites officially included in the  Inventario del Patrimonio Cultural de Castilla-La Mancha (also known as IPC C-LM) by the Castilla-La Mancha regional government.

Definitions

Heritage protection categories

• BIC: acronym for  Bien de Interés Cultural. Highest level of heritage protection in Spain and Castilla-La Mancha.
• BIP: acronym for Bien de Interés Patrimonial. Second level of heritage protection in Castilla-La Mancha.
• EIP: acronym for Elemento de Interés Patrimonial. Part of a building that meets heritage criteria.
• Bien integrante del patrimonio cultural de Castilla-La Mancha: an asset that has been included in the Inventory but not designated under any of the aforementioned categories.

Other protections

• Entorno de protección: buffer zone defined around BIC, BIP or EIP.
• Ámbito de protección: zone established based on data proving the existence of elements with heritage value.
• Ámbito de prevención: zone established based on a well-reasoned presumption of remains with heritage value.

The ámbitos de protección and ámbitos de prevención are essentially established to prevent the unsupervised use of metal detectors.

Entorno de protección, Ámbito de protección and Ámbito de prevención

The code of an entorno de protección follows that of the BIC, BIP or EIP that it surrounds but with the addition of the following letters either at the end or at the beginning of the number of the inventoried asset:

The code of an ámbito de protección has the following format:

07(INE code of the municipality)A(number of the ámbito de protección by order of inclusion)

And that of an ámbito de prevención the following:

The current iteration of the Castilla-La Mancha Cultural Heritage Viewer displays all the BIC, BIP, EIP, entornos de protección, ámbitos de protección and ámbitos de prevención with their description and references. For now, individual assets (Bienes integrantes del patrimonio cultural de Castilla-La Mancha) are not shown.
