A taxi stand usually is with cabs / regular cars, but in some countries in Africa, Latin America and Asia, it is common to have other vehicles, such as motorcycle taxis, rickshaws etc. In order to differentiate those, and specially after amenity=motorcycle_taxi proposal was rejected, the de facto solution used by mappers is to use amenity=taxi and explicitly mark the taxi vehicle type with the tag taxi_vehicle=*.
Used values:
- taxi_vehicle=auto_rickshaw - for auto rickshaws carried by motorcycles or other small motorized vehicles, like a tuk-tuk.
- taxi_vehicle=cycle_rickshaw - for cycle rickshaws carried by bicycles or other human powered vehicles, such as velotaxi, tricycles etc.
- taxi_vehicle=motorcar - the most common value, to be added for quality assurance, implicit value for amenity=taxi for the renderer.
- taxi_vehicle=motorcycle - for motorcycle taxi stands such as the one on the picture on the right (i.e. mototáxi in Brazil).
