In changeset 11913785 (achavi, OSMLab) I did a one time mechanical edit (with JOSM and VIM) to change amenity=airport to aeroway=aerodrome. There were 1120 elements with amenity=airport:
- those which already had aeroway=* were just stripped of amenity=airport and the aeroway=* was left untouched;
- those elements with just amenity=airport and no aeroway=* were stripped of of amenity=airport and added aeroway=aerodrome.
The aerodrome=international tag was removed from nodes 26609010
26609010 and 727371731 727371731.
The change was not discussed in advance. We're discussing possible fixes on the international talk mailing list
