Status and Report Type
There are two report type, interim and final. The interim report is due midway from the start of the project to the expected completion. The final is due within one month of completion of the project. When your report is complete change the status from draft to submitted when ready to submit; Microgrant committee will move the status to Under Review to Accepted. Or the Microgrant committee may ask for more information by changing the status to Incomplete.

Step 1. Methods and Activities
Tell us about what happened during the planning, execution and follow-up stages of your project. Please share stories of both your triumphs and your challenges.
During this first part of our project we were able to hold 6 successful mapping sessions while 2 of them were not successful. Due to the COVID-19 restrictions we had to hold every training loonline and this made the process a little bit difficult but we still managed to introduce students to OSM mapping. Beside this we were able to improve map coverage of Kosovo in OSM. Furthermore, we were able to expand our partnership with KEC with their project ASSET by adding 4 more schools to the initial 12. This way we look forward to holding four more trainings after the initial 12 are completed.
Editathons were usually held on Saturdays and lasted from 4-5 hours. During the first hour we had free discussions with the students about their knowledge of OSM. After, we continued to teach them how to edit their cities or villages in OSM. In total we held 6 edithathons in these cities:

Around 10-15 students participated in each training.
Project continuation.
"Entering on the map Points of Interest (POIs) in settlements" project.
The goal of the activities in this part of the project were to teach students to gather points of interest. This was done by teaching the students how to use OsmAnd and the steps they ought to take to put points of interest in OpenStreetMap. Firstly, students were trained on how to use the application and then they were advised when they should go out in the field and gather POI.
There were physical trainings held in each school where students were prepared to map and then they continued the process independently with their professors as supervisors. Some of them worked individually while some of them worked in groups. Students were compensated for their work with 15 euros for their contribution and 5 euros for phone charges. At the end of their sessions students had to provide proof of their work through the number of edits done and the compensation was given to the professors and they distributed it among the students. Students from the following schools participated in this part of the project:

Beside this, an award ceremony for students with the most contributions to the free map OpenStreetMap was held. During 16 mapathons with partner schools, students have been skilled in mapping on OSM and have been awarded for their contribution.
The five winning students have made 7706 edits in total, while winners based on the number of edits are:

2. Fatjeta Gashi – School “Haxhi Zeka”, Istog – 1872 edits
3. Suela Hasani – School “Eqrem Cabej”, Vushtrri – 1018 edits
4. Bedri Kalisi – School “Dardania”, Hani i Elezit – 909 edits
5. Fabian Zeqiraj – School “Haxhi Zeka”, Istog – 320 edits
Step 2. Outcome
What is the most important and valuable result of your project? What did it change, solve or accomplish? If the goal was a mapping goal, please provide before and after images. If this was a software project, please provide a link to the project.Our main goal was to give the opportunity to students in other cities and villages in Kosovo to know more about OSM and its opportunities. During this first part of the project we have partly achieved this goal by holding editathons for many groups of students. During the online sessions of the editathon, students were allowed to share their screen while they were mapping and this allowed for further comments and collaboration with the trainer.

Students edited their living and school areas for some time and we were able to gather the total number of edits for each school. Students from Prizren all together made 200 edits, students from Istog also made around 200 edits in total, while students from Rahovec made around 100 edits. Students from Hani i Elezit, Fushë Kosova, and Vushtrri each made around 150 edits.
In total 48 students participated in this part of the project with 10 students from Prizren, 11 from Istog, 10 from Rahovec, 6 from Hani i Elezit, 5 from Fushë Kosova, and 6 from Vushtrri. The most important and valuable result of this project is that students did this work mostly independently and there is a chance that they might continue to add Points of Interest just because of their interest and enthusiasm to map. Their contributions are also valuable for their hometown's representation in OsmAnd.
Moreover, five students were awarded for their number of contributions to OpenStreetMap.

Step 4. Learning
The students were able to understand how OSM functions and how to map their hometowns. Because the editathons were held online, the process of teaching students how to map wasn’t that easy.

Some of the students who participated in this project, were also part of other trainings about OpenStreetMap and their interest, readiness, and enthusiasm to work with OpenStreetMap made the process much easier. Perhaps similar activities could be implemented in another time when more students are in school and the trainings and workshop could be integrated within the learning hours.

We managed to spend all funds.
Most of the money where spend on, internet and web hosting, rent, minimal allowance for trainers on mapathons, traveling and refreshments, the award ceremony, prizes for best contributors, and POI expenses.
