Humla District is a district in Nepal at latitude 30°01′39.00″ North, longitude 81°23′42.00″ East.
Humla is the only district of Nepal that is not yet connected to the rest of the country by a motorable road network. Due to lack of road connectivity, locals of Humla are compelled to either pay hefty fares and commute by air or walk through long, risky and obstacle ridden trails for days to reach the headquarters or out of the district. It has an airport, but flights are dependent upon the weather conditions. The alternative of walking via foot trails is possible through Jumla or Mugu district. It takes about a day by bus to go through the rough tracks from Nepalgunj to Jumla or Mugu. From there, it takes five to seven days of trekking to reach Simikot. The common means of transportation are mules that carry essentials from the Tibetan border to Simikot.
