Organised Editing/Activities/Deletion of building duplicates in Indonesia

1st iteration

Background

As part of on-going work to improve the quality of OpenStreetMap data, our team found out a huge amount of buildings duplicates in Indonesia, and we are going to fix this soon as an emergency project. There’s a link to the problem area. There's a link to our Github ticket to related problem.

Timeframe

We are going to start fixing this issue as soon as all preparation will be done, and we plan to finish this project till the end of next week.

The 2nd iteration

We found out the same problem in several cities(Karawang, Karangligar, Mekarmulya) with building duplicates problem and going to delete them this week. We are going to use JOSM to reduce this problem, changesets could be reverted or duplicates will be removed separately.

Tools

We are going to edit this area with the help of JOSM using satellite images provided by Esri, Bing, Maxar. Hashtag #mbx_indonesia_duplicates will be used to mark changeset associated with this project.

Edits

Our edits will be introduced as set of changesets with removal of buildings duplicate. We will review each case of duplicates separately to be ensured that everything is as expected.
