Philippines/2020 Typhoon Activation
Typhoon Rolly, (aka Goni ) and Typhoon Ulysses (aka Vamco) are typhoons that made landfall in Luzon island in the Philippines on October and November 2020.
Disaster mapping activation was organized by local OSM Philippine communities such as Ministry of Mapping, MapBeks, GeoLadies PH, Mental Health AWHEREness, and MAPA DATOS and coordinated through the Humanitarian OpenStreetMap Team for support. Though the provinces of Cagayan and Isabela have been severely affected during Typhoon Ulysses, these areas have supplemental map data due to the Typhoon Ompong mapping activation in 2018. While Catanduanes, the first landfall of Typhoon Rolly, has generally high percentage of mapped areas.

Validation effort needed
Tasks are almost complete and need assistance for validation from intermediate and expert OSM mappers.
How to get the data
There are many ways to get data from OpenStreetMap. Two very simple ways are:
- Get country wide data from the Humanitarian Data eXchange (HDX)
- Or create custom exports using the Humanitarian OpenStreetMap Team (HOT)'s Tool
MapBeks' UNMAPPED PH
Due to the immediate need for mapping support, MapBeks' UNMAPPED PH project assisted and included the Tasks 9780 (Bicol-Buildings), 9838 (Rizal), and 9786 (Marikina City) in their mapping competition to encourage their participants to join in disaster mapping for these areas. Building footprints created in the mentioned tasks from November 11-22, 2020 are included in the over-all score for the competition.
Task No. | Task Location | Number of Buildings created[1] |

9780 | Oas and Polangui in Albay, and Buhi in Camarines Sur | 1,414 |
9838 | San Mateo and Rodriguez (Montalban), Rizal | 12,079 |
