Proposal
This proposal introduces one new value for the key office=*, office=adoption_agency.
Rationale
This scheme is intended to allow data consumers to locate adoption agencies globally. This key can be used to allow NGOs and other non-profit organizations as well as governmental social services groups to create maps of the locations of adoption agencies as well as allowing social science researches to accumulate information on these agencies. The key is very similar to other office=* tags (e.g. office=employment_agency). These make up the reasoning for the creation of a new tag.
Examples
There are many example of where this proposed tag would fit. Among them is the New York Foundling, an adoption agency and child-care program in New York City. Typically, there are a handful of adoption agencies in the majority of major cities globally.
Tagging
This proposal would add the tag office=adoption_agency to the list of office=* tags.
Applies to
The proposed tag office=adoption_agency would be used on either:
- nodes (in which case the node should be placed near the middle of the area in which the adoption agency is located) or
- areas (in which the area should cover the entire outline of the adoption agency).
Features/Pages Affected
This would predominately affect the office=* page as if approved, it would add a new value in the table of potential values.
