A bandstand should be easy enough to recognize and this tag makes it easy to tag it as well. Sure there could be more general tagging schemes including building=pavilion & pavilion=bandstand or leisure=music_venue & music_venue=bandstand, but there will be no problem to adjust the tagging the day these schemes get in use./Johan Jönsson 19:12, 18 March 2012 (UTC)

Thanks for your comments. I totally agree with you : I think it's better to tag it by now as simple as possible. If we find tomorrow a way to classify all the kinds of buildings and leisure activities, we could convert all of the leisure=bandstand... Looking at the data now I see 122 uses of leisure=bandstand plus few variations, such as man_made=bandstand (2), building=bandstand (43), bandstand=yes (3). These will need to be cleaned up following approval. There are 9 positive, no negative votes at this time. I'd like to approve this, assuming there are no objections within 3 days.
