Format
Haven't made up my mind with the main key yet: Since currency:USD=* is recommended over currency=USD, cash_out:notes:USD=* should be used to be consistent. Gets confusing in your multi-currency cash_in:notes=HKD 10;HKD 20;HKD 50;HKD 100;CNY 100 example, compared to eg cash_in:notes:HKD=10;20;50;100 + cash_in:notes:CNY=100. This should still be ISO 4217 compliant?---- Kovposch (talk) 09:30, 1 March 2021 (UTC)
- I think the format should be consistent with charge=*, which accepts e.g. 2.00 USD. I think it would be more trouble than it's worth to split up the value into multiple subkeys, especially when multiple currencies are accepted. – Minh Nguyễn 💬 00:02, 2 March 2021 (UTC)
- But charge=* is less likely to have multi-currency prices upfront, at least from what I know the exchange rate would instead be specified. Key:charge#Proposed_advanced_usage itself has some improper documentation.. More importantly, problem is placement of currency code isn't standardized. Whether it is prefixed or suffixed is country-dependent. ---- Kovposch (talk) 13:41, 2 March 2021 (UTC)
- Key:payment#Currencies also recommends using payment:*:USD=*. ----- Kovposch (talk) 14:52, 2 March 2021 (UTC)
- I have updated the format to have the number in front, currency at the end, to be consistent with charge=*.
