Complex Roof Shapes
Consider the roof of the Sydney Opera House. One 'sail' section of the roof over laps another, and it is not a consistent height along most, if not all, of its edges. Separating it up into smaller pieces may work to a degree, but when constructed each small piece was a section of a large sphere so even a small section is curved in all directions.
