Change text from first person

Suggest to change this from first person - it is wiki so maybe form that is not discouraging editing (and hopefully improving) the page would be better? Bulwersator (talk) 18:18, 4 December 2013 (UTC)

I would say the current form is OK because the text is not needed on the (opening_hours=* page as this is only a small extension. If you want to change it, you have my permission ;).--Ypid (talk) 11:20, 13 December 2013 (UTC)

Nothing new

The text a + behind a time means "from" or "open end" is part of the documentations since 2010-03-01.
In <time1>-<time2> time2 is clearly a time.
This syntax has been supported from the beginning by the library of User:Netzwolf.
There is no need to ask for permission before adding a example for this syntax to the docs.
I support this proposal but think it is a waste of time.

Thank you very much for this information. I guess I will have to go through the proposal process now that I started it. This syntax is not (yet) covered by the Key:opening_hours:specification originally created by User:Netzwolf. (Only the simple form is)--Ypid (talk) 11:15, 13 December 2013 (UTC)

I did not know that page and meant the specification on Key:opening_hours. I am interested in a simplification to allow something like "Mo-Fr 10-20, Sa 15:30-20, 24/7 request". Would this be technically possible? --phobie m d 13:31, 13 December 2013 (UTC)

It would be possible but would involve some big changes to the syntax as it is used today and I don’t thing that this is required. I am already quite lucky with the syntax and I would recommend to write your opening_hours like this: opening_hours=Mo-Fr 10:00-20:00; Sa 15:30-20:00 || "request".--Ypid (talk) 14:15, 15 December 2013 (UTC)

Unclear

The use case for this extension is not clearly stated. It's not clear to me what 'open end' is supposed to mean. Perhaps you mean that the place stays open if there are enough customers? Brycenesbitt (talk) 22:16, 6 January 2014 (UTC)

It is tagging as seen on signs. We have signs like "Mo-So 18-23 Fr+Sa open end" here and I think we should put as much as possible into the syntax and not into comment fields. --phobie m d 02:14, 10 January 2014 (UTC)
