Proposal talk:Pet
Conflict with pet stores
This proposal's use of the pet=* key conflicts with the existing pet=* key, which is used in conjunction with shop=pet to specify which pets are sold at a pet store. – Minh Nguyễn (talk, contribs) 20:31, 7 August 2018 (UTC)
- Yes. This is also documented in the proposal under Rationale. The values differ (in pet stores it's species, but in this proposed tag it would be yes/no, so this shouldn't cause confusion. --ZeiP (talk) 22:35, 7 August 2018 (UTC)
Pet type
I feel this tag is lacking the specificity needed to distinguish pet types. Many hotels, campgrounds, and businesses are happy to accommodate dogs and cats (some specify small dog breeds). But I’m not sure a restaurant owner wants a large pet snake in their establishment. I know a few people who have tested this and been requested to leave. Many hotels don’t allow snakes, birds, and other “non-standard” animals. Is there a way to classify types of pets? Perhaps with a scheme that can be readily understood by rendering websites.
Perhaps a value that says check note for details. Zandu (talk) 13:27, 1 September 2019 (UTC)
