Not fitting into the system

The key "parking" is already established with values like "surface", "multistorey", "underground", and these are orthogonal attributes to what you propose here. Please propose a different key. --Dieterdreist (talk) 12:46, 20 February 2015 (UTC)

"Car storage" for "Boats?"

The tag name "car_storage" seems wrong, as even the example shows boats. This is "long term storage", not "car storage". Long term storage typically breaks down into goods, vehicles, then cars, boats. There are many goods storage places that won't accept cars, and car storage places that don't accept goods.

Not a shop

I really think that using shop=* is inappropriate for this purpose. Firstly these are clearly service businesses, and secondly they have a very minor retail element (for instance packging materials can be purchased at some self storage locations). SK53 (talk) 11:37, 13 March 2015 (UTC)

Pre-existing tags

Several of the functions covered by this proposal have pre-existing tags: largely in the amenity=* group. For instance amenity=boat_storage has over 2000 examples, amenity=self_storage has around 50. SK53 (talk) 11:37, 13 March 2015 (UTC)
