Building=* tag only serves to describe the look, not the function. F.e. when a sports hall gets disused, the building is still a sports hall, but the facilities are no longer there. So although building=sports_hall is a decent tag, it doesn't serve as a replacement for leisure=sports_centre, but only for the building=yes tag. --Sanderd17 (talk) 13:18, 17 December 2014 (UTC)

Yes, but that doesn't mean that one has to put leisure=sports_centre on every normal spots hall that contains only one pitch. The use is already described by the sport=* tag. Compare Tag:leisure=pitch#Similar_tags: "leisure=sports_centre - Sports facility covering a larger area, which may include pitches as well as sports halls." --Hufkratzer (talk) 19:13, 24 November 2016 (UTC)
