turn:lanes:extension -> turn:extension:lanes

The order of parts in this key doesn't fit to the use of subkeys and suffixes. 'extension' is a subkey to 'turn' and 'lanes' is a generic suffix. The usual order is Key:Subkey:Suffix. The proposal should propose "turn:extension" as a new Key:Subkey pair and mention that it is commonly used with the 'lanes' suffix. --Mueschel (talk) 11:28, 16 November 2021 (UTC)

New tag is not necessary

The changing width of a lane can be expressed with already existing tags and the use of the :start/:end suffix (the proposal for this was never finished, but the suffix is in use). The way with changing width would be tagged `width:lanes:start=||0` to mark that the width of the turn lane is 0 at the beginning and (implicitly) changes to normal lane width until the end of the way. --Mueschel (talk) 11:28, 16 November 2021 (UTC)

Discrete vs Continuous value

You can use placement=transition for this implicitly. As you can see in width=*, basically *:start=* & *:end=* requires a continuous range of values such as numbers, otherwise it would be undefined when it is further split in the changing section for other reasons. ---- Kovposch (talk) 14:11, 16 November 2021 (UTC)
