I oppose this proposal. Personally I agree with much of what Verdy said: this problem occurs especially when it comes to a circuit for driving school. - I oppose this proposal. 'type' is not a usefull descriptor, 'purpose' or 'use' may be better. Landuse and lesiure are not good keys ... Needs more thought. Warin61 (talk) 21:00, 28 March 2018 (UTC)
- I oppose this proposal. however this is not really for "leisure" (or rarely). More likely will be a driving school (for cars, motorbikes, buses, trucks...). If this is for practicing a sport (e.g. motocross, or racing), then this should be a sport pitch (and there should be a welldefined track in it). In all cases this is an "amenity", even if most often it will be private (just like many schools and sport facilities). the proposed tag "autodrome" seems to restriuct the use only for cars/"auto", but most of these facilities are for various kinds of motorized vehicles (and frequently changing depending on scheduled hours/days). If this is for testing vehicles (as part of a certification process, this is generally a dependency of a vehicle factory, and will frequently be done on generic parking/storage areas, or part of the private facilities a racing club and this use will not be permanent, only when some new vehicles need testing; most tests however occur within factories and only concern engines, without driving a vehicle; evaluations for pollution are also made statically on test banks, real life evaluation/measurements should occur on public networks in real conditions, with measurement instruments on board beside the driver). — Verdy_p (talk) 23:40, 28 March 2018 (UTC)

- I oppose this proposal. This should be in the leisure tag like other facilities used mainly for sports. Please have a look to this proposal I made: https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Proposed_features/leisure%3Dracetrack. Subtags should be of type yes/no to allow more than one to be used, maybe with a common prefix usable also with leisure=sports_centre, leisure=stadium. Eg. PREFIX:racing=yes/no, PREFIX:training=yes/no sorcrosc (talk) 20:08, 2 April 2018 (UTC)
- I oppose this proposal. I agree with what was already stated: landuse is not a suitable tag because this is about a feature, landuse is not for features. There is already leisure=racetrack combined with sport, and AFAIR there is also a tag for the educational vehicle training area, at least it was discussed.—Dieterdreist (talk) 20:01, 10 April 2018 (UTC)
