I don't think it should be a landuse tag, as any area, perhaps already with some landuse tags can get contaminated. Perhaps use hazard=radiation tag that can be sticked to anything that is contaminated by radiation, be it a way, point or area (See Proposed_features/hazard and perhaps just add radiation amongst the hazards suggested there) --Bilbo 09:47, 14 April 2010 (UTC)

This tag should not affect navigation. Instead the ways inside the zone should be tagged with access=no and if gates have been erected, they should be tagged with barrier=gate, access=no -- Nic 15:54, 1 April 2010 (UTC)

Well but at least the user should be warned if he's insinde such an area. German wikipedia says about wikipedia:Semipalatinsk Test Site that this side is public accessible, so i guess there are not gates and you _could_ access it, but this does not mean you should, or you should drive through it. --Rtzui-2 17:12, 1 April 2010 (UTC)
