General Information
The OpenStreetMap-US National Chapter is proud to announce the first annual U.S. State of the Map Conference will be held August 14-15, 2010 in Atlanta, Georgia. This fun-filled and informative two day event will showcase presentations from some of the best and brightest members of the US OSM community and provide a platform to introduce the world’s largest online collaborative open geodata project to a larger American audience.
Venue
The Georgia World Congress Center (GWCC)[1]
The GWCC is the city of Atlanta's premier conference and convention center. It can accommodate a conference of any size and is fully equipped with wifi, meeting rooms of all sizes and space large enough for a general assembly. The facility has onsite IT staff to quickly handle technical issues and event coordinators to assist with logistics before and during the event.
There is ample space for beverage stations, in-between session networking, receptions (with or without cash bar) and catered luncheons. There are two Starbucks coffee shops and a food court located within the complex and dozens of restaurants of all price ranges within a few blocks of the GWCC.
The GWCC is located in the heart of downtown Atlanta; within walking distance of the Georgia Aquarium, World of Coca-Cola, CNN World HQ, Centennial Olympic Park, the Atlanta Underground and many historic landmarks.
