A fort is a stand-alone defensive structure which differs from a castle in that there is no permanent residence. There may have been temporary housing for the crew.
Forts are distinct from fortresses as they are generally more modern.
How to map
Set a node at the centre of the fort or draw an area along the outline.
If the fort has a moat around it, map the outline of the moat and tag it with natural=water + water=moat.
