The three Belgian linguistic communities do not obey the traditional hierarchic scheme of administrative subdivisions; the French and Dutch communities both include for now the Brussels-Capital Region; and the German community is a small eastern part of an arrondissement, within the Province of Liege, itself within the Region of Wallonia.
Possible tagging mistakes
- boundary=political with political_division=linguistic_community is also used by the Catalan community to map the international area where Catalan is spoken, but it is not an actual political/electoral district, so some other tagging scheme may be more appropriate. E.g. the web front end is confused by the current tagging and currently misrepresents this area as an "Electoral boundary".
