Slippy Map 'osmarender' layer fixing
Since I started this spring I found several pages of places (towns, districts) which showed the following information on the top: Kartenfehler: Ungültiger „layer“-Wert „%1“ (means sth like map mistake: invalid "layer"-data „%1"). When I compared that with other pages with slippy map I found that the "wrong" ones had "osmarender" the "good" ones had "mapnik" included in the Map-syntax
<slippymap lat="53.283" lon="9.717" z="12" w="450" h="380" layer="mapnik"></slippymap>
My questions: is mapnik the only layer which can be used? Is it correct if I just change such pages from osmarender to mapnik? Should there be a clean-up project for that Item? --Rennhenn 13:05, 22 September 2012 (BST)
- Yes the valid layer values are 'mapnik', 'cycle', or 'transport' (See also Slippy Map MediaWiki Extension) 'osmarender' is no longer working because the osmarender layer was powered by tiles@home project, which is discontinued. This means we need to flip those values wherever we see them in the wiki yes. Please dive in and make that change where you see it needs it. We have this as one of our Wiki maintenance tasks. -- Harry Wood 18:58, 22 September 2012 (BST)
- Thanks. As first action I adapted the German and Portuguese translation from osmarender to mapnik in order to avoid future mistakes. (In the the Russian version it was already correct). --Rennhenn 09:37, 23 September 2012 (BST)
Renamed page
Since it has since become much more broad than just cities. Help would be appreciated updating incoming links (special:WhatLinksHere/creating_city_pages). Arlo James Barnes (talk) 01:45, 27 August 2019 (UTC)
