Restaurants

There are 119 restaurants (NAICS code 722511). I have checked a few of them and I think it would be acceptable to import them all as just amenity=restaurant. Likewise for importing the 36 businesses with code 722511 as amenity=bar.

Adding additional tags like cuisine, website, opening_hours, or a more specific amenity is very helpful but goes beyond data import and into research and mapping. I've done a lot of restaurant tagging before so I'm happy to do that if you think it aligns with the project and won't cause issues with future imports or data source traceability.

Also I don't think it's necessary or useful to make a huge table on the main page. I'll just attach a csv here when the work is done.

Well, that makes sense with this part of the dataset (restaurants with NAICS code = 722511). So we keep things simple and import these records as amenity=restaurant. Once done, we add additional tags such as kitchen, website, opening hours or more specific equipment. I would then really appreciate your help with adding additional tags after the initial import is complete.

For the remaining records of the dataset, this might not be possible because there is no correspondence between the NAICS codes. However, doing it on a "layer" (codes) basis will help to handle the more complex attributes conversion. Jfd553 (talk) 13:05, 6 February 2023 (UTC)
