Talk:Extremmapping
Hi Manfred, What actually is this? --SomeoneElse (talk) 13:12, 23 February 2017 (UTC)
I tested the challenge http://maproulette.org/map/1478/1624766 an discovered normal fault to be corrected, but I discovered as well mapping disasters! I started to collect these disaters here: https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Extremmapping

That user just seems to be doodling. Presumably they got dragged into a geography class that they didn't want to attend, and just drew lots of triangles. What I'd suggest in these cases is firstly to comment in a friendly way on the changeset, so that a changeset discussion comment search like http://resultmaps.neis-one.org/osm-discussion-comments?uid=4856350 will find something. It also helps if you can try and track down the institution or project that is responsible for the problem. In this case #FCCU isn't very helpful, but a search for it at OsmCha http://osmcha-django-staging.tilestream.net/?is_suspect=False&checked=False&is_whitelisted=All&harmful=False&comment__icontains=fccu&page=1 does find some others, and some of those do have HOT project numbers (in this case 2307). A search for that in the HOT tasking manager gets http://tasks.hotosm.org/project/2307 , and on that page is a link to the HOT profile of the person who created the task, and on that page is a link to an OSM profile.
That's the best place to start asking questions about mapping quality - how was the request given to these new users? What is FCCU and who's the contact there? --SomeoneElse (talk) 15:42, 23 February 2017 (UTC)
