Applications. What happened next?? Progress/Completion?

So we have a list of applications which were submitted last year here: GSoC Applications 2008. Some of these are obviously more well thought through than others, but what happened next?

Which applications were accepted by google?

Which projects actually made any progress or even reached some level of completion?

I've seen other wiki pages and blogs by the students, so I know that some work was done, but what happened to all these projects? Which ones did well? This info should be linked from here or somewhere off the Google Summer of Code/2008 page.

I suspect relatively few of them actually came to fruition, but let's give some credit and celebrate what was achieved
