Talk:Key:air conditioning
While you seem to imply that this tag means cooling the body text doesn't actually mention it. I would advise to keep and document it that way ("it is for cooling and demoisturising only") and use some similar to craft=hvac for heating general ventillation (either as air_conditioning=heating / air_conditioning=heating;cooling or hvac=*). --grin ✎ 16:29, 3 August 2018 (UTC)
Air conditioning is unnecessary at this location
Perhaps add:
Value | Comment |
---|---|
unnecessary | Air conditioning is unnecessary at this location.
The location is perhaps in the arctic, or on a mountaintop, and thus does not need air conditioning. |

- No, this should not be added for climate. Mountain-top, cave, or other underground would be acceptable, but this is more subjectve. Indicating natural cooling or ambient temperature might be more acceptable. --- Kovposch (talk) 09:50, 23 October 2022 (UTC)
Give hint how to map an actual air conditioner!
E.g., there is a elephant-sized "air conditioner condenser" in the middle of the backyard. How to map? Jidanni (talk) 18:17, 22 October 2022 (UTC)

Default assumptions.
I have removed the text that said "(This is the default value and does not need to be tagged)" for air_conditioning=no . The default state of an amenity highly depends on the amenity and region. A supermarket will probably be air conditioned in most of the world and an indoor restaurant in e.g. South Florida will almost certainly have AC too. A pub in England almost certainly won't. If this contradicts previous discussion somewhere please let me know where --InsertUser (talk) 16:53, 13 August 2024 (UTC)
