Talk:Key:castle type:de
I'm against language specific categorization tags. This leads to even more fragmentation. Try to find matching english tags and if there are none then create more specific ones, maybe consult with english native speakers. Just to clarify: I'm a German native speaker. So far I have encountered these tags a few times and let them be. But I'm inclined to delete them when I encounter them again. Because those I have seen did not add any value compared to the english variants. --Nebulon42 (talk) 09:45, 15 January 2017 (UTC)
I fully agree to your statement. Every castle_type:de should have (and is having) a corresponding english tag (or tag combination). If this tag-combination is assigned, castle_type:de is redundant and can be deleted. Before castle_type:de was created, we had many non english castle_type values (beside stately and defensive, we also had schloss, Schloss, burg, Burg, hrad, Hrad, ...) The definition of the castle_type:xx tags has solved this problem. --WalterSchloegl (talk) 11:08, 15 January 2017 (UTC)
