Status
@Maro21: I don't think this is really a page with status imported. We explicitly do not have permission to import these but can cross reference the data sets so they are more analogous to wikidata=* tags that are recorded with the status in use. Even fhrs:id=* which I think we theoretically could imported but for the lack of accuracy in the locations shows as in use rather than imported. --InsertUser (talk) 14:05, 19 October 2024 (UTC)
- Were the tags with this key added after the survey because they are visible on these objects? maro21 13:45, 20 October 2024 (UTC)
- No, they were cross-referenced. See information on The Circuit under Data Sources at https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/UK_Quarterly_Project/2024/2024_Q2_Project:_Defibrillators. Bompstable (talk) 17:45, 20 October 2024 (UTC)
- Yeah, I think these are all manually matched rather than imported and unsiotble for an imported tag --InsertUser (talk) 02:07, 22 October 2024 (UTC)
- To me, the "imported" status means that the data comes from an external database, not from a survey. Tags like ref=* for roads are on the road signs, but majority of "ref:" keys/tags are imported from an external database. "Imported" doesn't mean that they were automatically added in one piece. maro21 20:07, 24 October 2024 (UTC)
- There are manual imports too, this isn't one. By your logic the wikidata=*, fhrs:id=*, HE_ref=*, mapillary=*, panoramax=*, etc, etc should all be imported and none of them were until you started changing them unilaterally. Your interpretation is clearly not in line with the way these statuses are usually used. All of these changes should be reverted. --InsertUser (talk) 17:01, 25 October 2024 (UTC)
- It's not my interpretation, but the definition: "imported is used for a tag which was added from an external database". Yes, all the tags you mentioned are imported, because they cannot be found on the door of a shop I map. See the history of HE_ref that has had the imported status since 2020. maro21 12:42, 27 October 2024 (UTC)
- "added from" as in imported from not added from as in cross-referenced. It doesn't change the fundamental meaning of the word imported. I think you know what you are doing is not how it was meant to be interpreted or you would have started with wikidata=* which is by far the biggest key that your overly broad interpretation applies to rather than quietly changing all the lesser known keys. --InsertUser (talk) 16:29, 16 November 2024 (UTC)
