Localization

At the moment I am already working on some localized App Description text and an App localized to English. Please be patient with me. :-) --Trailblazr 00:22, 26 January 2012 (UTC)

Update: The app is now available in three languages (french, english, german) - released v1.1 last night. --Trailblazr 15:18, 10 February 2012 (UTC)

Relation to Seewetter Pro

If you're going to advertise these two products, OpenSeaMap auf iOS and Seewetter Pro, it would be useful to explain what the differences are. Is the free one just a trial version of the paid one? In which case it may make sense to merge the articles to make it clearer. If not, then it would be good to list what's in one but not in the other.

A link to OpenSeaMap would also be useful in the first paragraph. Eric2 09:10, 26 January 2012 (UTC)

Hi, Eric, I want to provide information on the existence of BOTH apps. The OpenSeaMap App provides the pure access to the OpenSeaMap. I also do not in any way differ in the kind of presentation other apps in this wiki provide. I found a mixture of free apps and non-free apps in this wiki in a kind of directory like stucture. I just wanted to add these two apps, to further complete th portfolio of apps working on mobile devices with the data of OpenStreetMap.
The difference between OpenSeaMap App and Seewetter Pro app is exactly NONE in regard to the map features. Seewetter Pro provides a lot of additional functionality not related to maps, e.g. weather reports and NAVTEX messages. --Trailblazr 14:23, 10 February 2012 (UTC)
That's absolutely no problem to have free and non-free apps described in here, that wasn't my point. I just suggested that it should be obvious to the reader of OpenSeaMap auf iOS (without reading this talk page) what the differences were. Maybe you could edit the article (or preferably both articles) to make the distinction clear. Also I think the first sentence should describe the purpose a bit better than "App for OpenSeaMap". Again, just a suggestion. Eric2 09:17, 29 March 2012 (BST)
