What use for the crossing key?

The proposal is interesting but what would be the possible values of the crossing=* key? If those are either "marked" or "unmarked", you might as well go with crossing:marked=* being yes or no.

AFAIK, in most continental Western-European countries, all marked crossings aimed at pedestrians are zebra crossings, whether they have traffic signals or not. In other jurisdictions, whether they are marked or not conveys different rights. We should try to get a consensus on this key anyway. Bxl-forever (talk) 12:59, 4 December 2020 (UTC)
