Territories
You wanna differ between streets and territories in the addr: tags. But how should territories be tagged and known as territories? --Hno 16:45, 7 April 2012 (BST)
- Sometimes, it it place=village (or even place=town). Sometimes, it is place=suburb. Sometimes, it is place=island. But in some cases, there is no any polygonal object with such name. We can mark such territories, for example, with place=territory at node, located near the building, which have something in addr:territory. Dinamik 20:06, 8 April 2012 (BST)
Cemetery
To describe quarter on the cemetery I would also use addr:place=Quarter LXIC/North side and addr:row=5 --Władysław Komorek 06:40, 2 October 2012 (BST)
France
This tag would also be a good solution for duplicated street names we encounter in France whenever towns merged together. For example if two towns have a street called "Main Street", we need to put the information about the previous town's name - which is now just a place - somewhere in the address to make the distinction between the two streets. --PiRK (talk) 11:36, 12 May 2014 (UTC)
- This may be wrong usage.
It's not missing street name but missing place name though i doubt the place doesn't exists anymore but is probably lost administration authority only.I misunderstood, anyway this could disagree with the purpose of this tag to also remove ambiguity when there isn't an addr:street tag or there is no highway with the same name. Better to use addr:hamlet for distinction? --Redrat 12:00, 23 Jul 2016 (UTC)
