User Name
Should the user name be the Wiki user name, or the OSM editing username --Dalep 06:30, 24 August 2009 (UTC)
There is not yet any linking of the user name in the prototype to anything, but I think your OSM editing name is best if you have one. --Mark_gray
Todo: actually use people's OSM accounts, either with OAuth http://oauth.net/ or put this on a main OSM server
Suggestions/Ideas
Adblock plus addon for firefox may need to be disabled for yahoo imagery to show up. I had to do this on maps.yahoo.com as well. This seems to be an isolated issue with my system. Left here as a FYI for others --Dalep 22:11, 24 August 2009 (UTC)
Start on a random node each time (prototype has a hard-coded starting node and does not show lat/lon and links)
Allow pressing a key on the keyboard as an alternative to clicking a button on the page.
Increase magnification of satellite photos. We are using the maximum zoom available in the AJAX map, but it looks like another level is available on the Yahoo site. On a high resolution screen the images are small. It would be nice to have an option to display these photos at double size whether we can find another level of zoom or not. Not sure how to do either of these things yet.
User responses are going into a simple text file which is not yet processed by anything. We certainly want something more that will make it easy to give the user a new question image each time, support moving questions out of the pool to ask after we seem to have a consensus, etc.
- I think consensus should be used for anonymous responses, but if the response comes from an authenticated OSM user, the question should be considered answered and be removed from the pool. (Owlman 17:09, 25 August 2009 (UTC)
- I think even if the users are authenticated, we should wiat for a majority/consensus before automaticaly changing anything. Something like 3:1 ratio in favour of a particular diagnosis should be plenty. --Milliams 19:50, 25 August 2009 (UTC)

It might be nice if the tutorial was a little more involved - especially if it allowed the user to test themselves. This site, that someone brought up in the discussion group, does a great job at it.
Since a large number of TIGER roads are marked residential, when they are anything but, it might be a good idea to ask the user if the road appears to be residential (houses, apartments, etc.).
Please add more ideas or suggestions of how to make these improvements.
Allow users to customize the checking page
Size of maps (default is 200x200 pixels)
which OSM renderer to show
whether to show markers on either/both maps to highlight the node in question (tip: If the target icon is not visible on the OSM image, click on the image and roll your mouse wheel to zoom in/out and it will reappear.)

Progress Reports / Statistics
How many questions have I answered this session? Ever? On this task? On all tasks?
How many have been answered by everyone?
How many people have answered questions in the last day/week/ever?
Percent of questions answered once, or complete with high recheck confidence?
How many edits to OSM have been made?
Evaluation
Just read about QC in your diary and tested it a bit. I think the idea is really great! Because it allows people not familiar with hi-tech editors to contribute to OSM. Of course, you have to make sure that each question is answered multiple times the same way before writing results to the database. And statistics make users happy ;-) Greetings from Germany, --Es ka 19:16, 24 August 2009 (UTC)
New/Future Quick Checks
- Number of lanes
How many lanes does this road in the middle have? 1/2/3/....
- Unmarked rail crossings
Is this an at-grade crossing? Ways need to share a marked node. Is one of these ways a bridge?--which one? Inserting a bridge automatically may be tricky, but it could be marked to be edited manually later.
- Unmarked water crossings
Is one of these ways a bridge/tunnel?--which one?
