Cake Slices

Once more detail has been accrued it may be worth splitting the area into Cake Slices. The obvious ones are:

  • West Bridgford is already part of the greater Nottingham mapping area. (Slice 1)
  • Large villages separately (Radcliffe, Bingham, Keyworth, Cotgrave, East Leake, East Bridgford, Ruddington) (Slices 11-17)
  • Holme Pierrepont CP and adjoining areas to Radcliffe(W of Fosse Way, N of A52). (Slice 21)
  • Between Trent and the Fosse Way (A46) N of Radcliffe. (Slice 22)
  • W of the Loughborough road (A60). (Slice 23)
  • Between Loughborough (A60) and Melton (A606) roads. (Slice 24)
  • Between the Fosse Way (A46) and the Grantham road (A52). (Slice 25)
  • Triangle bordered by A606, A52 and the Fosse Way (A46). (Slice 26)
  • Vale of Belvoir, E of Fosse and Melton road. (Slice 27)

Individual villages can probably be completely surveyed on foot within an hour, with the road network covered en route between village. The bigger challenge is to get the network of footpaths and bridleways, so once status is added to the wiki this will be the important area to monitor. SK53 15:04, 5 June 2009 (UTC)
