Statutory list of roads

There's a reference to this on the page. The term used in section 36(6) of the Highways Act 1980 is 'list of streets', and this is the term I've seen used more in the Midlands of England. Possibly worth a tweak (and who knows, maybe another webcrawl under that term).

Re whether the list is available offline: Are Highways a devolved matter? If not, the Act presumably applies in Scotland and every statutory list must be made available for inspection free of charge. It would take a dedicated mapper to go and inspect it at the council offices, but it's a statutory requirement! :)

Mapping single track roads in Scotland

Hi there, after my frist trip to Scottish highlands, I would be happy to contribute with mapping. For me, it's unsure how to map single track roads with passing places. On my old paper OS map and the digital Ordnance Survey map, they are clearly mapped, in the standard OSM mapnik rendering not. With our car it was no problem, but I think, more than a few caravan drivers with their wide vehicles did not know about this - the A855 around Trotternish on Skye has a road number like a normal primary highway and turns out to be a narrow single track road not really suited for the vehicle. So it would be helpful, that there would be some evidence about single track roads on the rendered maps, and you might have less tourists get stuck in problems on the narrow roads (which the Sat Nav leads them through).

(There have been similar situations in Greek mountains, where the main road ends in a village and it's stome pavement is only suited for donkeys and quads, but they appear rendered in the primary highway colours on the map...)
