Mobisux forum seems to be down at the moment :( --Stefanb 12:18, 14 October 2007 (BST)

I think that Mobisux forum has had big problems lately. Many users moved to the rival ('old') forum: http://www.alter.si/tabla/ubbthreads.php --Breki 19:05, 14 October 2007 (BST)
Why don't you include typfiles to your maps for Slovenia? That would make them look much nicer. For the hiking maps I would propose to use OSM Composer --Extremecarver 01:20, 4 November 2008 (UTC)
I just started experimenting with TYP's few weeks ago :). I already did some for the hiking map, I'll try to include it in the next version of the map. But I do find mkgmap approach unsatisfactory - the main reason is that you cannot combine two tags or more in the features file. In fact I did some investigation on cgpsmapper tool and I'm thinking of writing a tool that would use Kosmos-like rendering rules to generate MP+TYP files which could then be used to generate IMG files. --Breki 21:40, 4 November 2008 (UTC)

Well then look a bit harder. That's exactly what OSM Composer is doing! OSM_Composer If you want to have multiple lines running besides each other than have a closer look. Let's try to fokus on free tools instead of supporting cgpsmapper which except for rgn,2,3,4 and autorouting has no more distinct advantages over mkgmap anymore (even more as conversion to mp is rather lousy). For application of osm composer look at this: OSM_Map_On_Garmin/mtb_map I wouldn't know how to do maps looking as close to paper topological maps with cgpsmapper. --Extremecarver 00:35, 5 November 2008 (UTC) It's well possible, look at this: Mtb=yes.png Blue points are for mtb=yes tag. blue arrows for mtb_oneway=yes. Light brown line besides red track mean tracktype=grade2, dark brown is chosen for tracktype=grade4. You can practically display a way plus 4 chosen attributes, plus additional tags. It would be great having more people working with OSM_Composer. Currently it's only Nop and me, some more people filing bugreports (there are still quite many things to get sorted out, but then OSM_Composer just started around 3 weeks ago) wouldn't do any bad. Especially from people who are not so expert on garmin maps because focus on documentation gets easily lost if we take many thinks for granted to be known.--Extremecarver 00:44, 5 November 2008 (UTC)

Cool, I'll take a look into OSM Composer when I find the free time. One suggestion though: could you translate it into English? :) --Breki 19:44, 5 November 2008 (UTC)
Sorry didn't know the config files were still in German. When opening click on "Datei" (same position as File/Menu). Then "Einstellungen" (Configuration), then the first entry is "Sprache" --> de --> change to en. Restart. I'have uploaded the English language files to SVN here: http://svn.openstreetmap.org/applications/utils/export/OSM_Composer/
I don't have the source, so some translations are not doable via Config files, I hope you can cope with the rest. --Extremecarver 20:53, 5 November 2008 (UTC)
