Yes, this is usually prominent information on aeronautical maps, together with its height.

Beside the tower, I believe we shall add ARO, AIS, MET points (these are offices of interest for pilots also marked on charts = reporting office, information service, and meteo).

I believe tower shall be an area (like building), while mentioned offices shall be points (like street numbers on buildings. Marking whole building as, say, ARO might be correct on small airfields, but on large airports fences and other obstructions are in place to prevent wandering, so one shall know exact entrance where to go). Area and nodes are both valid for both towers and other aviation offices. As mentioned below, some are buildings in their own right, others are part of a larger building. Nodes are useful if you know the position, but not the exact size or shape of the tower. Tinshack 05:55, 6 April 2010 (UTC)

(Useful) tag combinations

I think aeroway=control_tower whould be tagged without the need for man_made=tower. Not all control towers are on separate towers, some are in fact just a top deck on some building at the airport, this is specially true for small non-comercial airports. --Skippern 17:36, 12 December 2009 (UTC)

aeroway=control_tower should imply man_made=tower and building=yes. Using it in combination with building=no seems weird, but is useful when the control tower is not a building (e.g. a elevated trailer, temporarily set up for an air show at a remote airfield). Tinshack 05:55, 6 April 2010 (UTC)
