Rendering in OSM
Is it possible to get barrier=kissing_gate rendered on the standard map in a similar way to barrier=gate? Fluclo (talk) 10:59, 19 June 2016 (UTC)

How to Map
My suggestion to clarify the images | Eteb3 (talk) 18:40, 21 September 2019 (UTC)
Simply add the tag barrier=kissing_gate to the node where the kissing gate is.
This can be placed on a node on a linear barrier; on a node on a highway; on the intersection node of a linear barrier and a highway way.
AVOID tagging highway intersections, as that does not make clear which way has the impediment.
Example (showing in JOSM editor, but the principle applies in all editors):
Is wheelchair tag a good addition?
Would it be useful to add wheelchair=* tag to gates to note whether it is wheelchair passable? Mateusz Konieczny (talk) 18:37, 9 August 2021 (UTC)
- Yep, I would. I noticed also the routers do not navigate for bicycle though them. So probably impassable by default for bicycle and maybe also wheelchairs.
