Verifiability
By whom would the site be preselected? Should there be anything visible on the ground? If not, how is this a verifiable feature that can be added in OpenStreetMap? —M!dgard [ talk ] 21:40, 6 February 2020 (UTC)
- Such sites would be selected by those creating response plans for emergency events. The selection would be verifyable, besides possible signposting, e.g. in public response plans and/or in governmental open data. --Polarbear w (talk) 10:01, 7 February 2020 (UTC)
- M!dgard is right to raise concerns about this tag. I think it should only be used when there is an obvious open, flat place, and ideally there should be some sort of marking or signage or at least local knowledge that helicopters sometimes land at this location. For example, here in Indonesia I might use this tag for the spots that are frequently used for medevac helicopter flights at certain villages: you can ask the locals "where does the helicopter land" and they will point you to a flat patch of grass or dirt with no obstructions. In the USA I would use it if there is some marking or signage. But I would be skeptical about using this tag to import a long list of potential helicopter landing spots if they are unmarked and have never or rarely been used, since in that case there would be no way to verify the data when surveying the location. --Jeisenbe (talk) 06:42, 15 February 2020 (UTC)

Rope Rescue
In my area, there are places kept free from tall vegetation and marked with cat's Eye reflectors. Too small for a heli, but used to bring first responders and take up people injured or otherwise in need of help. This tag here does not apply?
- Not really, but such places deserve own tagging - note that such places are likely unusual in Europe and more popular in places where OSM communities are just starting. Thank you Mateusz; I chose tag-as-you-like. What do you think about a Wiki description, for a single use? I remember, I once tagged an "amenity=avalanche_transceiver_checker" and put the link on your red-links list, but you removed it, because of single instance.
