Talk:Tag:fire path=yes
It's not clear what tag is being suggested by this page, or when it should be used instead of or in addition to highway=* --Jeisenbe (talk) 00:55, 29 October 2019 (UTC)
No tagging suggested
The tagging section gives no clear tagging instruction. Is it just the idea to add fire_path=yes to a way in addition to highway=* ? If it's used on an area, what main tag should the area have? Or can you tag highway=fire_path if it is explicitly a firefighters entrance? If so, why not on a node? If it's a barrier such as a liftgate, wouldn't it be logical to add fire_path=yes to the barrier node? The text says it's about areas but the examples look like nodes to me, because they are very small areas or barriers. What about a longer way that is especially designed or designated for fire trucks? What if a larger area such as a large clearing in a forest is designated as a fire_fighters access, should the whole area be tagged with fire_path=yes? --Peter Elderson (talk) 08:26, 27 August 2021 (UTC)
- My take on it would be that firepath=yes should be added to any area which should stay clear of obstructions in case of a fire emergency. I guess it would be ok to add the tag to a way or the barrier too as to say "This path is designed for emergency vehicles". The reason behind the tag’s lack of instructions would be because it’s one of the keys "in use" and not "approved". --Lejun (talk) 10:49, 27 August 2021 (UTC)
Move it to Tag:fire_path=yes
I would like to move the page to Tag:fire_path=yes cause it is a description of tag in use and the usage is fire_path=yes (see taginfo). Any objections? --Chris2map (talk) 19:58, 11 July 2022 (UTC)
