Talk:Tag:landuse=industrial
landuse=harbour/port/industrial
The Harbour page suggest tagging the harbour area as landuse=harbour. The landuse=*-page suggests landuse=port, which in turn suggests landuse=industrial + industrial=port. I guess it would be a good idea to clean up these definitions. --Skippern (talk)
landuse=* on nodes?
This page suggests putting landuse=industrial on nodes, but the landuse=* page shows quite clearly that it shouldn't be used on nodes. It would kind of make sense for some of the values of industrial=* (such as industrial=machine_shop) to be put on nodes, and that tag supposedly requires landuse=industrial, but we should probably find some other way of denoting them. --Harry Cutts (talk) 03:46, 14 September 2016 (UTC)
- landuse=industrial is not the only page allowing to be used on nodes. See the other tags in landuse=*. I agree that this is not nice. The taginfo count of usage on nodes suggests that there is a some need to use landuse=* on nodes. So we should probably change the landuse=* to allow it, but maybe discourage it in the text of page. - The namespace landuse=* suggests it is an area (use of land), so tagging as node should ONLY occur when sufficient information to create a polygon is absent. Creating a full polygon should always be the preferred option, and a node tagged as landuse=* should assume fixme=Need survey of area --Skippern (talk) 18:37, 2 October 2016 (UTC)
Landuse=industrial on power plants!
Currently, the article recommends to not use this tag on power plants. The opposite is recommended on the power=plant. In Germany, power plants are industrial areas by land usage laws. What do? --Hb 20:00, 11 November 2018 (UTC)
- I changed this page. At least some power plants are in 100% industrial areas Mateusz Konieczny (talk) 21:36, 11 November 2018 (UTC)
This area is landuse=farmland - even if local government zoned it for industrial purposes
Could you please remove this example? There is generally an issue with zoning, unfortunately there is a value landuse=greenfield which is about zoning, and which could apply to your example. --Dieterdreist (talk) 09:58, 14 October 2022 (UTC)
- Why? If someone want to use dubious landuse=greenfield then it would be added in addition to tagging landuse=farmland Mateusz Konieczny (talk) 11:46, 14 October 2022 (UTC)
