Tagging with building=yes or building=silo?`
Currently about 61% of man_made=silo features are also tagged with building=*. There has been a debate about whether this is correct on the page for the related tag Talk:Tag:man_made=storage_tank. Should these features be tagged as buildings? --Jeisenbe (talk) 02:51, 10 October 2019 (UTC)
- Looking at examples - it seems to be within scope of building=* Mateusz Konieczny (talk) 08:54, 10 October 2019 (UTC)
- just found a bunch of double tagged silos and that should not be, in my opinion. Either building OR man_made is what I say Silversurfer83 (talk) 09:13, 9 August 2022 (UTC)
- Things can qualify for both Mateusz Konieczny (talk) 10:10, 9 August 2022 (UTC)
- I agree, there is no reason why an object could not have both tags… —Dieterdreist (talk) 19:22, 10 August 2022 (UTC)
Multiple silos in one location
Just adding details at https://www.openstreetmap.org/edit#map=19/-26.55047/151.82936, where there are a large number of silos, packed tightly together in several clumps.
I've mapped one clump of them individually but not certain that that is the best method of mapping them in a situation like this?
Can you outline the area of each group of silos, tag it as silo, with "quantity"=12? --Fizzie41 (talk) 01:11, 11 August 2022 (UTC)
- Tagging each silos as silos seems better than tagging group of them as a single silos and add unusual tag to override it Mateusz Konieczny (talk) 17:21, 11 August 2022 (UTC)
Thanks! Yes, following other discussions, tagging them individually seems the way to go --Fizzie41 (talk) 23:45, 11 August 2022 (UTC)
