More precisions
As a non native english speaker, I have no clue about what a chalet is supposed to be (in french, a chalet is a type of construction found in the mountain made of wood and does not imply anything about it's possible usage) Could you be more specific about the differences between a tourism=chalet, an tourism=hostel or a tourism=guest_house ? In a "chalet" is the owner sleeping in a different building ? Does breakfast can be brought by owner ? Is a "chalet" rented by the same group, by different group ? Can you rent one place only ? one room only ? Who does the clean up of rooms ? Are bathrooms dedicated "per groups" ? Is there a possibility of restaurant service ? is that optionnal ? Thanks for your answer to help me found what is the french equivalent of a "chalet" sletuffe (talk) 21:20, 30 March 2016 (UTC)
- Have a look here at holiday cottage: [1]. It's probably close to Meublé de tourisme [2], just in a separate (small) house. The naming tourism=chalet is pretty unfortunate as it's prone to misunderstanding. --Eartrumpet (talk) 17:51, 31 March 2016 (UTC)
breakfast
I think breakfast=* doesn't make sense together with this tag, what would be the different from tourism=guest_house to tourism=chalet;breakfast=yes ? --Hakuch (talk) 11:28, 11 January 2017 (UTC)
- +1 A chalet typically doesn't offer any breakfast services. There is simply no need, as you have your own kitchen facilities. breakfast=* might be a source of ambiguity and should be removed. --geow (talk) 21:18, 11 January 2017 (UTC)
removed undiscussed addition of breakfast=* --geow (talk) 21:41, 17 January 2017 (UTC)
capacity
What about capacity in this context? it is used for tourism=guest_house --Hakuch (talk) 11:37, 11 January 2017 (UTC)
- Mh but I see now, there are tags like beds=* and rooms=* mentioned here, looks like there is a disunity within the tag scheme... The more important question is, should we really map something like beds and rooms in osm? What about pets allowed, microwave available, checkin dates etc, when do we stop it?--Hakuch (talk) 23:04, 11 January 2017 (UTC)
- I would propose to use capacity=* for the number of beds and number_of_chalets=* for the number of houses, in parallel to tourism=apartment --GerdHH (talk) 08:36, 23 January 2020 (UTC)
How to tag entire group of rentable holiday cottages?
There are cases where there is group of multiple holiday cottages, each rentable independently. I have cases with just 2 and big groups, 25 in one place.
How it should be tagged? Mateusz Konieczny (talk) 06:14, 14 December 2020 (UTC)
