Diving boards

leisure

- sport=diving is ambiguous (scuba diving? cliff diving? tower diving?), therefore should not be used. sport=tower_diving is clear, and can be used, although it may be deducted from tower:type=diving or leisure=diving_tower (hypothetical tag in the "leisure" category). - I thought the ambiguity had been cleared up, as the tag page sport=diving has been updated. It now specifies that the tag corresponds to the activity of jumping off a diving board, and links to the other tags sport=scuba_diving and sport=cliff_diving. I recently started this topic on the French OSM forum, and it seems that these 3 tags are now unambiguous. Don't you think?--Sylvain M. (talk) 22:08, 22 August 2024 (UTC)
- I think that people not always read documentation, therefore even if documentation is clear, it not precludes incorrect use. This tag is rare, no reason to stick to it. Something B (talk) 22:20, 22 August 2024 (UTC)
- In that case, you'd have to modify the sport=diving page, and/or make proposals for modifications. I'm not very comfortable with this process (sorry, by the way, I realise I haven't replied from the same account, I'm really fumbling with the wiki): do you feel able and motivated? --Sylvain M.
